Quiet, alongside of Creek. Bathroom is dated, could use some sprucing up. Otherwise, a nice campground.

Camp sites spaced nicely, has water, tent pad, picnic table, flush toilets, very shaded, Creek near some camp sites.

Privacy and Natural Beauty! Excellent spot for Family Camping adventure! Super nice Campground Host, clean bathrooms, and well cared for/designed campsites! We'll be back:-)

EDITED NOTE August 2017: We visited in May 2017 and the aforementioned dam has been removed. The fires of fall 2016 almost got the place. But the firefighters were able to save the campground and Joyce Kilmer big trees. It's still a nice campground.

We started tent camping here in the mid 80s (that's about 30 years). That was before the road was paved, even before the Cherohala Skyway. Too old to sleep on the ground any more but never to old to come to the place. Nice bathrooms, fairly isolated sites and very good water source. There aren't any hook-ups for RVs but with the proper amount of preparations, still very comfortable. If the most remote campsites are the best (and they are for far to many reasons to go into here), then this is your place. And if you really want a wake up call, take a shower below the little dam about a quarter mile downstream.

I'm sure I'll come back there for the next camping trip. Campground across the street the Joyce Kilmer National Forest. Very isolated place, we saw only one more family camping there and maybe 3 cars passed the road during one day and night. But for me it's big advantage. Camping has clean restrooms, fireplace, but no showers Located along the river.
